Covering the full range of great ideas, including mathematics and natural sciences, the College’s Great Books curriculum provides a liberal education of unparalleled breadth and rigor.  Rejoice with us that there are still many students whose eyes light up when they read this list (which is only a sampling of the works that will be read):

Freshman Year

40+ major works, including The Bible (all four years), Homer, Confucius, Plato, Herodotus, Thucydides, Aristotle, Bhagavad Gita, Sophocles, Euclid, Archimedes, Augustine, Galen, and Linnaeus.

Sophomore Year

45+ major works, including Virgil, Cicero, Plutarch, Athanasius, Anselm, Aquinas, Dante, Chaucer, Ptolemy, Copernicus, Shakespeare, Donne, Kepler, Lavoisier, Rembrandt, Bach, and Mozart.

Junior Year

45+ major works including Machiavelli, Galileo, Luther, Calvin, Locke, Descartes, Newton, Kant, Rousseau, Voltaire, Adam Smith, Pascal, Federalist Papers, U.S. Constitution, Milton, Austen, Tolstoy, Marx, Nietzsche, Renoir, Wagner, and Stravinsky.

Senior Year
